Pool Draining
Regular pool draining is essential to maintain healthy water quality. We recommend refreshing your pool water every 2-4 years to remove buildup from chemicals and hardwater
Regular tile cleaning significantly enhances the beauty and aesthetic of your pool. Over time, calcium buildup, hardwater stains, and algae can dull your tile’s appearance.
Tile Cleaning Services
Acid washing is a highly effective method for removing tough stains and restoring the beauty of your pool’s surface. Over time, pools can accumulate unsightly stains from algae, hardwater deposits, and other contaminants that regular cleaning might not eliminate.
What I personally say about these three things are:
A) Drain regularly. The fresher your water the easier it is to maintain chlorine during the summer. 2 years is a good number. 4 years is not.
C) Acid washing is like using detergent when doing laundry; we always rinse thoroughly after draining and cleaning tile. Shouldn’t we restore the surface and make it shine again?
B) Don’t neglect your pool tile and aesthetics. You selected your tile for a reason: to enhance the visual appeal of your oasis.

FAQs
What Does a Typical Pool Tile Cleaning Experience Look Like?
Our process is designed to be efficient and effective. Typically, we start by draining your pool in the afternoon, and by the next morning, it's completely empty. Once drained, our team arrives to clean the pool tiles and water features using our bead blasting technique, which safely removes calcium and hardwater deposits without damaging the tile.
Next, we proceed with an acid wash, which removes stains and revitalizes the pool’s surface. This part of the process usually takes up to three hours, but larger or more complex projects—like pools with extensive water features, heavy algae, or specialized tile—may take longer. After cleaning, we begin refilling your pool, leaving a hose to continue the fill-up process. We advise you to monitor the water level and turn off the hose when the pool is nearly full (typically within 24-48 hours). Your auto filler will then handle the final adjustments, and your pool will be ready for swimming!
How Often Should You Schedule Pool Draining and Tile Cleaning?
To keep your pool in top condition, you should drain your pool every two years. When you drain it, it’s the perfect time to schedule an acid wash and pool tile cleaning. By alternating between these services—acid washing every four years and tile cleaning every four years—you can stagger the maintenance and avoid doing both at the same time. This ensures your pool stays clean and fresh while preventing the buildup of hardwater and stains.
Can You Drain the Pool During Hot Weather?
Yes and no. Draining a pool when temperatures exceed 100°F can pose a risk to the pool surface, which may crack or become damaged under extreme heat. That’s why we don’t recommend waiting until summer to refresh your water. However, if draining during hot weather is unavoidable, we take extra precautions. We might have the homeowner spray down the pool walls to keep them hydrated while working quickly to refill the pool—typically within 24 hours.
Can Pool Tile Be Cleaned in the Summer?
Yes, we can clean your pool tiles in the summer! In this case, we perform a partial drain—about a foot below the tile line—so we can safely and effectively bead blast the tile. Once cleaned, we refill the pool, and the entire process is completed in just a few hours.
How Much Does Pool Tile Cleaning and Maintenance Cost?
We believe in being transparent about costs, so you can plan ahead for your pool maintenance without worrying about hidden fees. Here’s a general breakdown of what to expect:
Pool Draining: $250, plus an additional $80-$100 for startup chemicals.
Acid Washing: Typically $250 or $125 per hour, plus acid costs (for extreme cases).
Bead Blasting: $6 per foot, with a minimum charge of $250. For an average pool (80-120 feet), the cost ranges between $400 and $720.
If your pool has extra features like waterfalls, backsplashes, fountains, or exotic tile, it's best to request a free quote, as these elements can add to the complexity of the project.
